Festival of Nations
Very proud team CMAA's performance at the 2019 Festival of Nations! Our team brought the energy and rocked the stage. I love that they can share an exciting element of Chinese culture and represent the diversity of our local community . I’m excited to start working on making our demo even better for our Chinese New Year performances!

Check out some of the highlights of their performance this year:

(Another) Beautiful Chinese Cooking Show
Another wonderful show about food in China! *Warning this program may cause excessive salivation and the urge to go out for Chinese food and over eat immediately after watching! Enjoy!

The Warrior Within
I've been asked about the value of martial arts many times. Most often it seems parents want discipline, fitness, and focus for their kids, while others are truly looking for tangible things like a black belt and medals which they think will look good on college applications. These are the things that you can quickly explain. However, the long answer is much more profound, and much more significant.

No matter what your interests are in the martial arts,
- health/wellness, fitness, self defense, sport, fun or all the above, we have a program right for you! PM us for info and find the warrior within you!

Why So Serious?
“Take your work seriously but never yourself, no one else does.” – Unknown.

Tai Chi as a Martial Practice
Taiji Quan (Tai Chi) is a complex art. In recent years it has become popular and widely practiced for its health and wellness benefits. The main form of transmission and practice is typically the solo empty hand and weapons forms. However, as a traditional martial art, it practice is much more diverse. Though not required at CMAA, the other forms of practice can also greatly benefit the the practitioners health and wellness, while keeping Tai Chi fun, breaking up the monotony, encouraging more interaction between practitioners and greatly enhancing the our understanding of Tai Chi in a more complete sense.

In addition to our warm ups, Qigong routines, fundamentals practice and individual empty hand and weapons routines, at CMAA we also include several other practices to introduce students to a more complete orientation to Tai Chi. For those who are interested, we have specific times dedicated to the practice of two person Tai Chi (Sanshou Duilian) routines and Push Hands (Tui Shou) practice. This type of training can help one better understand the Taiji principles and postures in a martial context through energy exchange.

These exercises are by no means exhaustive. In this video we have primarily limited the exercises to fixed step. Some are meant to help practitioners better understand simple concepts of connectivity while other introduce intercepting, redirecting, or specific techniques for off balancing or joint locking.

Kungfu Life Lessons
Kungfu teaches us a whole lot more than just punching and kicking.  These clips are pretty profound for a “kids” movie. Thanks Kungfu for all the life lessons.
