Sash Test Recap

This team did great!  I can't tell you how awesome the energy was at the sash test event. I have seen great progress from our team on all levels.  It was very inspiring to me to see everyone so focused and really demonstrating all that they've worked so hard on.

Big congrats to Sam Chen on earning his 2nd degree Black Belt.  This is no small task.  In addition to learning his new routines, he has competed twice in the last 6 months and has typically sparred with me 3x a week for the past year (and against all the big guys in our Kickboxing program, of which there are quite a few!).  You are truly transforming to a powerful martial artist before my very eyes!

Wudang Mountain Tai Chi and Kungfu
Would you love to travel back in time and train Kungfu and Tai Chi on a fog enshrouded temple, high in the mountains in China? I'd love to plan a trip for summer 2021! Who's in?

Festival of Nations
This year’s Festival of Nations will be scheduled for October, 20th.  Stay tuned for details about a demo by CMAA as part of the China’s performance!  This is always a great opportunity for CMAA to showcase the results of our hard work and the beauty of Chinese martial arts to the local community!

Note:  All students ranked light brown sash or higher are welcome to join our performance team perform!  You are required to attend the demo team training sessions as our performance routines are ever changing to reflect our students developing skills and abilities!  Please inquire with Shifu if you are interested in this opportunity!

Check out some of the highlights from last years’ demo!

 Beautiful Chinese Cooking Show
Recently I saw my wife watching a cooking show. Usually I’m not very interested in this type of program but this one caught my eye. With an interesting back story, a young woman from the country side has made a Youtube channel where she takes you through the traditional process of preparing and cooking Chinese food. Beautiful, fascinating and mouth watering, it's really just a joy to watch. Let me know what you think!

Yang Tai Chi 108
The Yang 108 is a Traditional Tai Chi form. It can be helpful to have a video to watch at home, but when looking online it can a little overwhelming. The forms almost always look the same as our, but there always seems to be little things here and there, like transitional movements and other subtleties can make it hard to find exactly what we are looking for. I happen to come across this video of Liu Gaoming who's form is a very close match to the ours. Hope this is helpful. Enjoy!

Tai Chi Social Lunch Group

All CMAA Tai Chi students are welcome to get together at 12pm on Saturday, Oct. 12th at the Tamarind Thai located at 728 New Loudon Rd, Latham NY 12110.  Our Tai Chi students are such a wonderful bunch of good people and we just never seem to have enough time to catch up. If you can confirm in advance please let us know so we can have a general idea of our group’s size.

The Great Big Story: Kungfu Culture Micro Documentaries
